PeopleCert is looking for a motivated Trainee Lawyer to join its international in-house Legal team, supporting the business across a wide range of legal areas including corporate, commercial, IT, intellectual property, and employment law. The successful candidate will play an active role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, while contributing to the mitigation of legal risks across the organization.

Working closely with experienced legal professionals and cross-functional stakeholders, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to initiatives that uphold PeopleCert’s core values of Quality, Innovation, Passion, Integrity, Clarity and Velocity.


As a Trainee Lawyer your tasks will include the following:

  • Conduct legal research on legislation, regulatory frameworks, and case law, and prepare clear, concise summaries for the legal team
  • Review, draft, edit, proofread, and translate a wide range of legal documents and agreements
  • Support trial preparation, including drafting legal correspondence and handling filings with courts, authorities, and public bodies
  • Track and manage assigned tasks and deadlines to ensure timely delivery
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials using various office tools
  • Assist in presenting legal updates, contributing to due diligence processes, and supporting the development of internal policies and procedures
  • Advise on legal, regulatory and ethical aspects of AI systems, including data protection, automated decision-making and risk classification.
    What we look for:
  • Bachelor Degree in Law; an LL.M. from a renowned law school would be considered a plus  
  • Qualified in Greece as a trainee lawyer.
  • 0-1 year post-qualification experience required
  • Sound knowledge of Greek commercial law (including corporate and intellectual property law); knowledge of employment law would be considered a plus  
  • Excellent command of the English language (oral & written) (C2 level certification desired, or certificate would be a plus) 
  • Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable 
  • Familiarity with AI tools and technologies (including generative AI), and understanding of their legal, regulatory and ethical implications in a business environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to assist the legal team to effectively advise management and employees on legal matters with good business acumen. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring compliance with deadlines. 
  • Excellent organization and ability to balance multiple priorities appropriately 
  • Well organized, self-driven, flexible and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
