As a trainee, the purpose of this role is to assist in delivering an effective provision of administrative and client relations support to the portfolio management and stockbroking teams including producing valuations, liaison with Operations Centre, assisting clients with online queries, payments and asset transfers, day to day support work plus instructions and liaison in respect of non-nominee clients and funds.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist when required with the management of the Client Services mailbox and ensure work is distributed/completed as required
- Preparation of ad-hoc valuations as requested by clients and portfolio managers
- Input static data amendments (change of exec codes, management fees, email addresses)
- Process new accounts and trigger events (change of address, change of contact details etc). Ensure procedure is followed, CRMs are raised and instructions to COB/CDD are clear. All documents to be saved in the shared drive individually and correctly named
- Manage the pending closure process and ensure the procedure is followed and checklist is fully completed to the point of actual closure
- Liaise with account administrators, Execs, CDD team and other CGWM departments regarding client data requirements
- Prepare account opening confirmation letters and letters confirming service type changes
- Prepare letters to clients confirming fee changes
- Maintenance of portfolio management structure in core operating system
- Review debtors report daily and advise portfolio managers when an account becomes overdrawn to enable them to take the necessary action to clear the overdrawn position

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A solid educational background with at least 5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above, or equivalent or relevant work experience
- Excellent communication skills both on the phone and in writing
- Excellent attention to detail and proven accuracy skills
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work methodically whilst under pressure
- Knowledge of or ability to learn and apply CDD requirements
- Experience of working with numbers and proficient in Excel
