Trainee Client Manager
We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Client Manager to join our Marsh Commercial / Bishop Skinner team in Witham. As a Trainee Client Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients and learning how to manage day-to-day servicing activity, including renewals, mid-term adjustments, quotations, and client enquiries. You’ll develop practical insurance knowledge, build strong client relationships, and gain exposure to the marine insurance market.

We will rely on you to:
Support the accurate input and maintenance of client data, ensuring records are kept up to date
Help prepare scheme and open market renewal packs, including pre-renewal checks and claims updates within required timeframes
Check policy documentation against client system records to ensure accuracy
Process transactions on the system for secured scheme renewals and mid-term adjustments
Work closely with colleagues to ensure enquiries, renewal requests, and workflow are handled efficiently and promptly
Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or team
Take ownership of First Notification of Loss (FNoL) reports and send them to the Claims Unit
Record cheques, payments, and card transactions, and liaise with Finance Operations as needed
Assist with accounting queries and reconciliations
Update notice boards and help maintain a safe, tidy working environment
Provide general administrative support, including word processing, database updates, minute taking, and ordering stationery
What you need to have:
5 GCSEs at Grades 9–4, including English and Mathematics
Previous experience or a strong interest in insurance operations, account administration, broking support or a related administrative role
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a high-volume workload and meet tight SLAs
A basic understanding of underwriting and policy administration processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence when corresponding with brokers, carriers, and offshore operations teams
High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach

Skills Required
