As a Trainee Backend Engineer, you are stepping into an exciting opportunity to learn and grow within our engineering team while contributing to the development of backend systems that are critical to the fundcraft platform. In this entry-level role, you actively build your foundational knowledge and gain hands-on experience in backend development, preparing yourself for more advanced responsibilities.
You work under the guidance of experienced backend engineers, collaborating on various projects while learning industry best practices. Your main focus is to assist in building and maintaining backend solutions, but you also get exposure to the complete software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, and documentation.
This is a position based in Spain, reporting directly to the Lead Backend Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of backend systems using Python and basic tools like Docker.
- Write basic automated unit tests and assist in integration testing to validate backend functionality and maintain quality standards.
- Assist QA engineers and senior team members in identifying and resolving bugs.
- Contribute to the documentation of backend systems, APIs, and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Observe and apply coding standards, design principles, and best practices under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Work with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.
- Engage in continuous learning to improve technical skills and knowledge of backend engineering principles.
