Trailer Mechanic

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Decatur, IL location!
Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.
Pay Range: Dependent on experience.
(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)
Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:
- The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
- Tank service and repair
- Trailer suspension installation and repair
- Experience with air brake systems and repairs
- TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
- Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
- Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED
Physical Demands:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
- Must be able to work in confined spaces

Skills Required
- DOT certification
- 3-5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other tank trailer systems
- Tank service and repair experience
- Trailer suspension installation and repair experience
- Air brake systems and repair experience
- Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to DOT, HM183, and hazmat standards
- High school diploma or GED
- TIG and MIG welding experience with aluminum, stainless steel, or carbon steel
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Ability to fit through a tank trailer manhole and work in confined spaces
