We are seeking a Traffic Signal Designer II to support the design, analysis, and implementation of traffic signal, intersection improvement, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. This role will work closely with transportation engineers, project managers, and public agency clients to deliver traffic signal and roadway improvement projects from concept through construction.

- The salary range for this position is $85,000 -90,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop traffic signal, and ITS design plans.
- Prepare construction documents including:
- Signal layouts
- Wiring and interconnect plans
- Signing and pavement marking plans
- Traffic control plans
- Perform traffic engineering analyses and operational studies.
- Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, and state transportation agencies.
- Conduct field investigations and existing condition assessments.
- Support construction administration activities and respond to contractor inquiries.
- Participate in project meetings and client presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of traffic engineering and traffic signal design experience.
- Experience developing traffic signal plans and specifications.
- Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- Synchro Studio and/or HCS and/or PTV Vistro
- Bluebeam
- Knowledge of:
- MUTCD
- AASHTO standards
- ADA requirements
- Traffic signal operations and equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within one year.
- PTOE certification a plus
- Experience with:
- CTDOT standards and procedures
- MassDOT standards and procedures
- Adaptive signal systems
- ITS design
- Proficiency in MicroStation or willingness to become proficient
