Job DescriptionJoin AECOM's transportation team and play a key role in advancing the future of mobility across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. As a Traffic & ITS Engineer, you will support a diverse portfolio of transportation projects involving traffic engineering, traffic operations, signal systems, ITS planning and design, and emerging transportation technologies. This opportunity is ideal for a Traffic Engineer with four years of experience looking to broaden technical expertise, increase project responsibility, and contribute to solutions that improve safety, reliability, and traveler experience. We are looking for the engineer that is self-motivated with a desire to work on a broad range of transportation projects.
- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of Traffic and ITS projects.
- Prepare traffic engineering studies, technical reports, and design documentation.
- Support traffic signal, roadway lighting, signing, pavement marking, and ITS device design.
- Analyze traffic operations, safety data, and transportation network performance.
- Coordinate with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support project delivery through design development, construction support, and field investigations.
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 4 years of experience in traffic engineering design and traffic analysis, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Engineer-in-Training certification in either PA, WV, DE.
Preferred:
- 6 years' experience in the areas of developing traffic and ITS plans and performing traffic analysis through internships and/or work experience.
- Professional Engineer license in either PA, WV, DE, or ability to obtain in 6 months.
- Experience with Synchro and HCS traffic analysis software, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is desired.
- Any prior design experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) as it relates to traffic engineering, signal design, ITS design, plan production, project estimates, and specifications is a plus.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
