With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our Traffic Engineering and ITS group, where you will play a key role in supporting project delivery across a variety of transportation initiatives. In this role, you will support successful project delivery for a wide range of clients and projects as a key team leader for design traffic forecasting and analysis, along with support on traffic signal and ITS design, and operational/safety improvement studies. This role will work closely with Task Leads and Project Managers, to help deliver quality work, on time, on budget and to client's satisfaction by utilizing traffic engineering standards, guidelines, and manuals to ensure project deliverables align with state and federal technical requirements. This is a dynamic opportunity to advance your career while contributing to meaningful, high‑impact transportation projects.
What You'll Do:
- Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Assist in the development of project specifications.
- Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
- Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
- Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
- Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or
- PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
What You'll Bring:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applicable to traffic and transportation engineering while being able to independently progress the tasks required of the discipline.
- Ability to while working collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with task leads and project managers.
- Exhibit understanding of traffic engineering concepts such as traffic volume forecasting and analysis, signal design and/or operational and safety studies.
- Exhibit experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and software such MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCad, VISSIM, Synchro, HCS etc.
What We Prefer:
- Master’s degree in Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and traffic engineering and design software
