What’s on offer?
 

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Coordinator to join our Sydney Road Asset Performance Contract team based in Rydalmere. Working in partnership with Transport for NSW, this long-term contract delivers routine maintenance, incident response, road upgrades and asset management services across Sydney's road network.
 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective planning, coordination and delivery of traffic management activities across a diverse network that includes high and low-speed roads, pedestrian and cyclist interfaces, and major transport corridors.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Liaise with project teams, clients, road authorities, local councils, emergency services and other key stakeholders to plan and deliver effective traffic management solutions.

  • Identify traffic-related risks and hazards, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with safety requirements, industry standards and network performance obligations.

  • Prepare, submit and manage Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) applications, motorway permits and associated traffic approvals to support project delivery.

  • Review and approve traffic management documentation, including subcontractor submissions, while identifying and managing network, project and operational conflicts.

  • Work closely with delivery and communications teams to implement site-specific traffic management strategies that prioritise safety, minimise congestion and maintain network availability.

  • Develop and coordinate Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Vehicle Management Plans (VMPs) and Variable Message Sign (VMS) strategies in line with TfNSW, statutory and regulatory requirements.

We're looking for someone with experience in traffic management, project coordination or a similar role within construction, infrastructure or transport. You'll hold a Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan qualification and be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.

You're a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. With a practical mindset and attention to detail, you'll thrive in a role where no two days are the same and where your contribution helps keep our road network safe and running efficiently.

Skills Required

  • Experience in traffic management, project coordination, or similar within construction, infrastructure or transport
  • Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan qualification
  • Experience preparing and managing Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) applications and motorway permits
  • Ability to develop Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Vehicle Management Plans (VMPs) and VMS strategies
