We’re looking for a Traffic Controller to join our Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) Team in the Wellington Region. You’ll assist with the traffic management on site, ensuring a strong commitment to safety, by helping us set up and manage the safe flow of traffic around the state highway network.

When you join our team, you will play a key role in keeping both our crews and the public safe on the road! As a Traffic Controller, you'll be right at the heart of our operations, setting up safe work zones, directing traffic with confidence, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on site.
You’ll help create a safe and efficient environment by managing traffic flow, supporting site setup, and working closely with the team to maintain top safety standards.
This role is Night Shift usually hours worked between 7pm and 7am, Sunday to Thursday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week

- Assist with the setup and pack-down of traffic management sites
- Direct and manage the safe flow of vehicles and pedestrians
- Support temporary traffic management across a range of projects, following current codes of practice
- Communicate clearly with STMS and site crews to keep operations running smoothly
- Proactively identify hazards and take action to eliminate risks
- Maintain a strong focus on safety for yourself, your team, and the public

- Full Class 1 Licence non negotiable
- Current TTM, TMO qualifications or a commitment to achieving qualifications
- Ideally Class 2 Licence
