Job DescriptionJob Purpose:
To ensure the efficient and compliant handling of import shipments, documentation, and logistics operations, supporting the company’s supply chain and trade compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Request import processing for shipments flagged by courier alerts (DHL, UPS, and/or Forwarders).
- Review import customs declarations (pedimentos), validating auditable fields to prevent future penalties.
- Prioritize shipments identified as critical to operations.
- Generate Certificates of Origin when required by tariff classification to benefit from trade agreements.
- Request approval for the logistics expenses according to the DOA.
- Ensure that shipments processed through courier accounts are exclusively for the Vallejo plant.
- Enter expense accounts and customs documentation into the ANA foreign trade system.
- Request missing import documents from the Purchasing department.
- Identify import operations for the Vallejo plant within the ANA system.
- Process automatic notices through the Foreign Trade Single Window (VUCEM).
- Prepare import letters when necessary.
- Request freight costs per shipment.
- Prepare operational reports (taxes, expenses, imports).
- Maintain control of expense accounts prepared by the Customs Broker.
- Manage spreadsheets and value manifests per shipment.
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in import logistics or customs operations.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and foreign trade systems (ANA, VUCEM).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
