As a Traffic and Interstitial Specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate scheduling, organization and continuity of all broadcast content by maintaining daily program logs and verifying the accuracy of all material to ensure a seamless on-air experience.

Our ideal Candidate will:
Produce daily program logs for multiple channels, ensuring accurate sequencing of promotions, underwriting spots, and interstitial content to maintain seamless on-air continuity.
Schedule interstitial content in daily program logs, adhering to break structure guidelines and implementing the on‑air priorities established by Marketing’s On‑Air Promotions team to ensure all priority messages are included in every scheduled break.
Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding missing interstitial content, updates, or conflicts. Assist with last-minute adjustments and day-of-air changes as needed to maintain seamless operations.
Ensure compliance with station policies, FCC guidelines, and industry standards.
Monitor program breaks to ensure appropriate, effective institutional messaging and promotional content. Maintain knowledge and understanding of audience groups and demographics to enhance KET’s marketing initiative and on-air strategic communications.
Cross-check interstitial logs; Serve as backup for Traffic Specialists where appropriate and as needed.
Assist the department with viewer services calls and emails as needed. Respond to viewer questions in a courteous manner within 24 hours of receiving the correspondence.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of previous television operations (traffic) experience or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
Attention to detail and acumen for accuracy, the ability to consistently meet daily deadlines is required.
Must be able to work within a collaborative environment and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
Prior administrative experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with sponsorship (underwriting) scheduling and broadcast traffic workflows, including close coordination with a sales team to ensure accurate placement and fulfillment of all contracted spots.
