Our Engineering team is essential to Verition's success, developing innovative trade capture and processing solutions that address evolving and complex business requirements with efficiency and precision. We are seeking a Senior Developer with a strong focus on Python (70%) and Java (30%) to join our team. This individual will work on building integrations between trading systems, firm booking systems, and third-party platforms. The ideal candidate is a technical expert with a deep understanding of trading systems, FIX protocol, and the ability to navigate and implement complex software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement integrations between trade execution management systems (EMS), order booking and management systems (OMS), and external third-party vendor platforms.
- Develop and enhance post-trade normalization and fills aggregation processes, ensuring data accuracy, traceability and completeness.
- Design and maintain test automation frameworks to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements to technical specifications and deliverables.
- Perform impact assessments of changing business requirements and infrastructure/platform upgrades and/or changes.
- Evaluate user stories for complexity, scope, and feasibility during sprint planning to ensure clarity and alignment with goals.
- Provide Level 3 support to debug and troubleshoot production issues, leveraging these opportunities to enhance system resilience and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong programming experience in Python (5–7 years) and Java (3+ years).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ).
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting and command-line tools.
- Deep understanding of the FIX protocol and its application in trading systems.
- Experience with financial data APIs and external data integration.
- Hands-on expertise with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Pytest, PyUnit).
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (AWS) and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with Python packaging and management tools (e.g., VirtualEnv, PyEnv, PIP, PDM) and Git based version control systems.
- Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines.
Salary Range
$140,000—$200,000 USD
