As a Trading Platform Engineer you'll keep the systems that carry our orders to market fast, observable and dependable. You'll build the tooling the trading platform runs on, own the latency path end to end, and work alongside the desk as the first line of response when production issues arise.
What you'll be doing- Develop new features and improvements for our trading platform tools.
- Build the monitoring layer for essential trading services, from health dashboards to alerting on time-critical paths.
- Provide support during production incidents: verify compute, connectivity, market data, revert to last known good configuration, triage and escalate to service owners where needed, and fix trading platform tooling directly.
- Own routine maintenance of essential services (version rollouts, configuration changes) and build the tooling that automates it.
- Tune the end-to-end latency path, including kernel-bypass networking.
- Establish and maintain latency baselines, so regressions are surfaced by monitoring before they reach the desk.
- This role includes participation in an on-call rota shared across the team.
- Experience building or supporting low-latency trading infrastructure in a Linux environment, at a prop trading firm, hedge fund, exchange or crypto trading firm.
- Hands-on with performance tuning below the application layer: kernel bypass (DPDK or similar), NUMA and CPU affinity, network stack and buffer sizing.
- Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash or Go), and comfortable working with modern Python or C# codebases.
- Experience with observability and alerting tooling (Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent), and a considered approach to alert design.
- Calm and methodical under production pressure — able to own an incident and escalate clearly.
- Treats documentation and reproducibility as part of the work.
