Garda is looking to hire an Intern to join the Macro Trading Desk in Geneva for three months, starting as soon as the candidate is available. The candidate will be supporting the investment team, helping to collect, visualize, and analyze macroeconomic data to assist investment decision making. In the course of the internship, you will be exposed to the analytics used in trading and working broadly with the team, who will provide guidance and feedback.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with the macro trading desk and learn the day-to-day responsibilities of the investment team, from Analysts to Portfolio Managers.
- Complete project-type work including the collection, cleaning, visualization, and analysis of macroeconomic data for the investment team.
- Analyze potential market reactions to macroeconomic data and idiosyncratic developments in global markets.
- Improve macro risk taking around economic cycles and specific data releases by producing data driven analytics.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of interest rates markets and its main products including bonds and derivative instruments.
Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, financial engineering, computer science, econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Quantitative & programming skills (Python, SQL, & Excel).
- Knowledge and interest in financial markets.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team.
- Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve.
