Join our Fixed Income Middle Office team and support the investment process from trade capture through settlement and reporting.
Job summary
As a Fixed Income Middle Office Analyst in Asset Management, you will support the day-to-day operational needs of fixed income portfolios and help enable strong investment outcomes. You will monitor exceptions, investigate root causes, and coordinate timely resolution across cross-functional partners. You will strengthen the control environment by enhancing procedures, documentation, and issue management practices. You will contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to reduce cycle time, improve data quality, and increase process resiliency.
Job responsibilities- Support the creation process for public and private assets across key operational workstreams
- Provide daily operational support to fixed income portfolio managers, including securitized and private products
- Serve as a central point of contact for operational support related to private securitized products across partners
- Ensure trade details are captured accurately and communicated to downstream partners (including fund accounting, custody, and performance teams)
- Assist with operational support for bank loans and debt restructuring activity, as needed
- Monitor exceptions and breaks, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Drive process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and operating platform resiliency
- Design, document, and maintain procedures that support a strong controls environment
- Maintain oversight of offshore processes and coordinate issue remediation and follow-through
- Prepare and present operational insights, trends, and risks to stakeholders as needed
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, data, and responses in a timely manner
- 2 years of relevant experience in Operations, Product, Business Management, Data/Analytics, or a related role
- Experience working with exception processing, identifying trends, and communicating root-cause insights
- Proficiency with common analysis and reporting tools (for example, Excel) and comfort learning new workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across a range of stakeholder levels
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships in a matrixed environment
- Working knowledge of the fixed income asset setup lifecycle (from issue date to maturity)
- Understanding of accounting principles and performance and attribution concepts
- Strong quantitative capability and comfort working with formulas and risk/performance measures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Hands-on experience with fixed income trading and/or market data vendors
- Experience supporting private or less liquid products (for example, private securitizations, bank loans)
- Experience partnering with performance, reference data, and technology teams to improve data quality
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset (process mapping, control enhancements, automation ideas)
- Strong digital literacy and ability to adopt new tools and workflows quickly
- Familiarity applying analytics, automation, and/or machine learning concepts to operational processes
