Job DescriptionThe Trade Marketing Manager LATAM is responsible for defining the regional Trade Marketing strategy and
governance across Mexico, Export, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. Reporting to the Trade Marketing Director,
this role leads the Visual Strategy, Merchandising Governance, Trade Marketing Funds (TMF), and eCommerce
and B&M Catalog Excellence.
The position is accountable for the strategic planning, governance, financial management, and continuous
improvement of Trade Marketing investments while ensuring alignment across Brand Marketing, Sales, Finance,
Procurement, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and external partners. The role establishes regional standards, drives
operational excellence, manages strategic supplier relationships, and ensures compliance with Mattel's financial,
legal, and procurement policies.
Through data-driven decision making and cross-functional leadership, the Trade Marketing Manager enables
consistent execution across LATAM markets while maximizing investment effectiveness, strengthening retail
visibility, and supporting commercial growth.
What You’ll Do
- Define and lead the LATAM Trade Marketing strategy, aligning annual commercial calendars, campaign priorities, visual strategies, and seasonal initiatives with Brand Marketing and commercial objectives across all markets.
- Own the governance of the regional Trade Marketing budget (TMF), leading Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Forecast cycles, budget allocation, financial reporting, monthly closings, and investment optimization across LATAM.
- Lead the regional merchandising governance model, including agency sourcing, commercial negotiations, supplier performance management, service standards, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Mattel's procurement, financial, and legal policies, overseeing Purchase Orders, contracts, supplier governance, audits, NDAs, FCPA requirements, and corporate controls.
- Lead the regional eCommerce and B&M Catalog Excellence strategy, governing product cataloging, digital content quality, launch readiness, digital shelf performance, and strategic initiatives across key online retailers. Establish regional operating standards and governance, driving process standardization, KPI definition, reporting frameworks, and best practice implementation across LATAM markets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Sales, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and external partners to ensure alignment of Trade Marketing priorities and regional initiatives. · Develop business insights and executive reporting, leveraging financial, commercial, and operational analytics to support strategic decision-making and maximize investment effectiveness.
- Lead strategic regional projects and business transformation initiatives, driving operational efficiencies, capability development, digital transformation, and continuous improvement across the Trade Marketing organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop the regional Trade Marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, talent development, and execution excellence.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or International Business or Marketing
- 7-8 years experience in trade marketing, shopper marketing, commercial finance, or related areas in FMCG,retail, or eCommerce, preferably with regional scope.
- Proven experience managing budgets, agencies, eCommerce cataloging, and regional coordination.
- Languages: Native Spanish and advanced English (C1–C2).
- Channel knowledge: Modern trade and eCommerce in LATAM, including retailers such as Walmart, Amazon,Chedraui, Falabella, Ripley, Éxito, Supermercados Peruanos, and Ri Happy.
- Tools: Coupa, Malibu, Salsify, Oracle, Amazon Vendor Central, Mercado Libre Seller Center, Tableau, Sales Kit, PIM, Sales Force.
- Core competencies:Negotiation, Leadership, Data analysis, Proactivity, Assertive communication, Stress and frustration tolerance, Strategic thinking and commercial
