As a Trade Lifecycle Analyst within JPMorganChase, you will play a pivotal role in managing the operations of pre- and post-trading life cycles across all asset classes, with a primary focus on cash movements in and out of client accounts and preparing funding for managed demand deposit accounts. You will coordinate with other business lines to ensure proper funding, applying your knowledge of trade lifecycle processes to identify and resolve issues while contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives. Your success will depend on your ability to actively listen, ask insightful questions, and establish productive relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as manage projects and influence outcomes. Job responsibilities
- Oversee the data environment and ensure system readiness for Middle Office platforms supporting SMA portfolios.
- Ensure data integrity through ongoing data validation tests and exception monitoring.
- Maintain accurate and timely client, account, portfolio, benchmark, custodian, and security static/reference data within Middle Office systems.
- Open and set up new SMA accounts in the relevant systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy of account attributes, restrictions, benchmarks, fee schedules (where applicable), and operational requirements.
- Support ongoing SMA account lifecycle events (updates, changes, maintenance requests), ensuring proper documentation and auditability.
- Enter, track, and manage SMA portfolio requests in a workflow tool (e.g., guideline updates, restrictions, rebalances, cash flows, corporate actions queries, account changes), ensuring accurate capture and timely progression.
- Manage deliverables while servicing ad hoc queries and requests from internal stakeholders, prioritizing effectively across competing deadlines.
- Run, validate, prepare, and distribute MIS reports covering SMA business and operational metrics (e.g., volumes, breaks, turnaround times, exceptions, data quality indicators).
- Produce and interpret results for internal clients, highlight risks and trends, and escalate emerging issues before they impact downstream processes.
- Maintain user configurations and entitlements within Middle Office systems supporting SMA operations, in alignment with access governance and control requirements. Partner with Portfolio Managers, Trading/Execution teams, Operations, and Technology globally to resolve issues and improve process stability.
- Provide clear and timely communication on issue status, risks, dependencies, and expected resolution timelines; escalate appropriately.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Strong academic background with minimum 3 years experience in Managed Accounts / SMA / Portfolio Operations / Middle Office functions.
- Fluent in English (written and oral) with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capability; comfortable working with data exceptions and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, apply controls, and prevent errors through proactive monitoring.
- Strong time management, highly organized, and able to operate under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a control-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while proactively seeking guidance when required; strong team player able to build relationships globally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus Word and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of investment products and portfolio constructs used in SMA mandates.
