The role in a nutshell:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and business-oriented Trade Law Manager to support the continued growth of our Austrian operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with cross-border employment, trade, and regulatory requirements while enabling smooth workforce mobility for our clients operating across various jurisdictions. You will be responsible for managing trade and regulatory risks, advising on legal frameworks, and supporting the delivery of compliant global employment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Advise on the legal and compliance aspects of employee leasing and employer of record within Austria
· Design and execute strategies and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable trade and employment laws in Austria
· Remain up to date with new and evolving laws in Austria
· Manage legal risks associated with employee leasing activities
· Identify legal risks linked to moving workers across borders, including restrictions under trade agreements, sanctions, dual-use regulations, and employment law conflicts.
· Liaise with and recommend external legal counsel as required
· Maintain records and ensure proper filing of documents
· Support wider business with legal and compliance queries
· Conduct research on requested topics for both local and global markets
Key skills, experience, qualifications required:
· Degree in a related field (e.g. Law, business, international relations, regulatory)
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in trade and/or employment law in Austria
· Knowledge of business licensing requirements for service-based companies operating globally
· Certificate to be a trade law manager for employee leasing in Austria (Gewerbeberechtigung für Arbeitskräfteüberlassung) preferred
· Proof of professional competence for employee leasing (Befähigungsnachweis für Arbeitskräfteüberlassung) considered
· Residency in the European Union
· Fluency in German and English; both written and verbal
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
· Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
· Experience in an Employer of Record (EOR), Professional Employer Organization (PEO), or employee leasing background.
· Familiarity with immigration and labor regulations across multiple European countries.
