The Duty Drawback Specialist supports the company’s Duty Drawback program through data collection, documentation review, claim preparation, and record-keeping activities. This role ensures accurate and compliant execution of drawback processes while assisting internal teams and external partners in recovering eligible duties. The Associate works under the guidance of senior Trade Compliance personnel to maintain audit-ready records and support continuous improvement of drawback operations.
What we’re looking for:
- Education: High School Diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, logistics, or similar administrative roles preferred.
- Experience with drawback documentation or import/export operations is a plus but not required.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents and data.
- Basic understanding of import/export processes (HTS, entry documents, shipping documentation) or willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Effective communication skills when interacting with internal teams, brokers, and external partners.
- Ability to follow structured procedures and maintain compliance-focused discipline.
- Experience with SAP, GTS, or similar systems is beneficial.
How you will create an impact and thrive:
- Gather import and export documentation required for drawback claims, including entry summaries, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and proof of export.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness, identifying discrepancies and coordinating corrections with internal teams or brokers.
- Assist in preparing drawback claims by reconciling import/export data, matching corresponding transactions, and organizing required backup documents.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready files and electronic records in accordance with regulatory record‑retention requirements.
- Update tracking logs, spreadsheets, and internal databases to ensure visibility of claim status, outstanding documents, and upcoming deadlines.
- Support brokers, consultants, or internal claim preparers by providing needed documentation and responding to routine inquiries.
- Assist in validating product eligibility for drawback programs under supervision (e.g., unused merchandise, rejected merchandise, manufacturing drawback).
- Monitor missing, incorrect, or late documentation and proactively follow up with internal teams, forwarders, and carriers.
- Support periodic internal audits and regulatory reviews by compiling and providing supporting documentation.
- Identify basic data or process issues and escalate them appropriately to senior team members for resolution.
- Assist with standard administrative activities, including reporting, filing, spreadsheet maintenance, and data cleanup related to drawback processes.
- Provide general support to the Trade Compliance team as assigned.
