Summary of Job Description

The position, TPM Lead, is responsible for providing predictive maintenance expertise to maintain critical manufacturing equipment.  Accesses condition of equipment and machinery through the use of various testing and analysis techniques and methods.  This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services with a focus on minimizing downtime and repair costs.

Essential Functions

  • Leads in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures.

  • Collects, records, and analyzes vibration, thermal, ultrasonic, electrical and pressure data on production equipment.

  • Inspects equipment and machinery, both visually and through analysis of data.

  • Issue reports on findings and recommendations for equipment repair and improvements.

  • Actively participates with maintenance planning and operation.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices for predictive maintenance activities.

  • Monitors and helps maintain equipment reliability.

  • Participates in the full range of daily maintenance duties.

  • Assists with and supports a preventative and predictive maintenance program.

  • Assists team members in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

  • Involved in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Inspects jobs in progress and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.

  • Supports in maintaining inventories of maintenance material, supplies and repair parts at required levels through inventory control and purchase requisition procedures.

  • Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction; supports tool/equipment design and fabrication for reprocessing projects.

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean/safe work environment.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • May be required to perform other duties, responsibilities and functions that are assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in predictive maintenance or related area.

  • Valid driver’s license with class E qualification and clean driving record.

  • Solid English language skills, reading and writing skills.

  • Must have solid math and computation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting production equipment and automation.

  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems.

  • Level 1 or higher Vibration Specialist certification.

  • Proven ability of using predictive instrumentation (thermal scanner, vibration, etc.) and electrical tools (meters, meggers, etc.).

  • Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.

  • Proven experience with standard reliability and maintenance strategies such as planning, preventative maintenance and predictive programs, and spare parts inventory management.

  • Safety conscious, goal oriented and customer focused

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements.

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions.

  • Attention to detail and established procedures, along with being well organized.
