Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Talent Total Rewards, Senior Manager, assists in the administration of employee benefit plans to include but not limited to health, prescription drug, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, long term disability, COBRA, FSA, and EAP.
- Assists in the day-to-day administration of U.S. defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
- Understands retirement plan regulations, including ERISA.
- Works with the Talent Total Rewards team and the Firm’s actuary on administration of a traditional defined benefits plan.
- Responds to routine health and welfare and retirement plans inquiries from employees and retirees.
- Maintains vendor relationships to resolve customer service issues.
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains the storage of benefits related documents, both hard copy files and electronic documents.
- Provides administrative support to the total rewards team including filing, document production, typing, data entry, conference room/meeting scheduling and sending documents.
- Perform all other duties as necessary and as assigned by your supervisor for efficient functioning of the Department, Office, and Firm.
- Assists with annual benefit open enrollment.
- Prepare monthly invoices in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment.
- Administer benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), wellness), including enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA, and leaves of absence (FMLA/ADA), ensuring compliance and data integrity.
- Support compensation processes, including job evaluations, market pricing, salary structures, merit, and bonus cycles.
- Maintain HRIS and benefits platforms; ensure accurate employee data, audits, interfaces, and reporting.
- Serve as a technical resource to employees and managers on total rewards policies, processes, and plan provisions; resolve less typical inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc analytics (headcount, eligibility, participation, cost modeling, pay equity snapshots).
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and firm policies (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FLSA, IRS, DOL); assist with audits and filings.
- Participate in compensation/benefits surveys and benchmarking; collect and validate data submissions.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to projects that enhance employee experience, efficiency, and controls.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or similar professional services environment (e.g., consulting, financial services).
- Working knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and compliance.
- Proficiency with HRIS/benefits administration systems and MS Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables); strong data accuracy and reporting skills.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities; able to interpret policies and explain complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills; manages time effectively to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
- High integrity and discretion handling sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred/Plus
- Experience with Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar HR/benefits systems.
- Exposure to leave administration, ACA measurement/reporting, and pay equity analyses.
- CCP/CBP, SHRM-CP/PHR, or related certification.
