About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products.  The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

To support manufacturing operations through the design, fabrication, maintenance, and continuous improvement of precision tooling, fixtures, dies, gauges, and specialized production equipment that ensure product quality, production efficiency, process consistency, and compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Manufactures parts for tools, dies, and fixtures per drawings.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs tooling, dies, and equipment.
• Reads blueprints, design, maintain and build gauges, tools, dies and other manufacturing equipment.
• Tests equipment, tools, and dies and validates that they meet specifications; adjust parts as needed.
• Performs die preventative maintenance and document results.
• Operates small bench pendent and overhead radio controlled cranes.
• Sets up, operates, and maintains a variety of fabrication and machining equipment, including but not limited to manual and CNC mills and lathes, surface grinders, cutoff saws, drill presses, punch pressed, etc. Performs equipment calibration and adjustments as required to ensure accuracy, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Designs, sizes, and hand-fits on bench, dies, tools, and fixtures.
• Works with other employees on tooling projects and understand the projects requirements.
• Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
• Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Your Background

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tool and die making, tool room operations, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design, maintain and build gauges, tools, dies and other manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to test equipment, tools and dies, and validate that they meet specification.
• Ability to operate common hand and power tools and to use precision measuring devices and other related tools required of the job.
• Ability to use CAD software to assist in design or modification of models or CAM programming is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/ competency to successfully perform job and operate related equipment, machines and tools.

Physical Requirements

• Medium work.  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25lbs. of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects that are 10lbs.
• Requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort while multi-tasking in a team environment.
• Ability to wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the shop floor or in other work area where mandated (i.e. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and/or other applicable PPE).
