Tooling Manager – Iron & Machining

We are seeking this position on behalf of our client, an international manufacturing company expanding its plant in Monterrey, México, offering an excellent compensation package. Position eligible only for Mexican Payroll.

Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in tooling management, preferably in iron casting and machining environments.

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling design, and CNC programming.

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing process improvement methodologies.

  • Technical expertise in tooling and machining operations.

  • English proficiency (written and spoken) is required.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling operational challenges.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, procurement, and maintenance of tooling for iron casting and machining operations.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize tooling life and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize machining processes and reduce downtime.

  • Manage tooling inventory and ensure timely availability to support production schedules.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to tooling and machining operations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all tooling activities.

  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality tooling materials and services.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving tooling-related issues.

  • Train and mentor team members on best practices for tooling and machining operations.
