As a Mid senior/Senior Level Tooling Engineer - Mould design, you will be responsible for Mould design & development for eVTOL airframes prototype manufacturing & supporting in assembly integration. The candidate will be responsible for interacting with vendors and cross functional teams in realization of tooling and prove out.

Roles & responsibilities

  1. Design and develop moulds, templates used in the production and maintenance of aircraft composite parts& sub-assembly.
  2. Perform DFM/DFA assessment during tooling design reviews to ensure manufacturability of airframe systems.
  3. Exposure to Aircraft assembly & integration processes, 3D metrology inspection.
  4. Strong hold in CAD modelling & drafting in CATIA V6, Enovia PLM.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation and records of tool designs and modifications.
  6. Assist Internal/external suppliers and customers with tooling related fabrication questions
  7. Process quote backup sheets with required tooling and technical data in support of procurement for Out-of-Production product lines
  8. Interrogate engineering/tooling drawings and CAD models to understand tool geometry and complexity, with knowledge of the Cartesian coordinate system, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  9. Utilize knowledge of common manufacturing processes as they relate to tooling, including casting, machining, forging, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, welding, molding, composite layup and assembly to support Supply Chain
  10. Utilize understanding of the different part commodities/part build strategies and what tool types are generally used for each commodity
  11. Understanding of the need for periodic tool inspections and audits and ability to execute them
  12. Articulate technical details relative to fabrication methods and tools required
  13. Utilize a basic understanding of Loft Engineering
  14. Utilize knowledge of the use of Master Tooling to control aircraft configuration
  15. Coordination of tool repair, improvement and engineering change activity, as needed.
  16. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint / Google suite
  17. Adhere to project timelines and budgets and quality of output.
  18. Basic knowledge on ERP & PLM
  19. Basic knowledge on cost estimation & time study of project execution.
  20. Basic knowledge on QMS, QC tools & Metrology
  21. Basic knowledge on GD&T, Fits & assembly
  22. Basic knowledge on PFD,PFMEA, Control plan
