Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an experienced Tooling Design and Integration Engineer to join our team in Heath, OH.
Position Responsibilities:
- Interpret design requirements and develop tooling designs to meet assembly requirements.
- Develop program and project requirements, develop highly complex equipment and tooling concepts, and design solutions including alternatives for the Production System.
- Complete complex design drawings owning the configuration management from design through fabrication and ultimately turn over to assembly technicians.
- Validate analysis of technical data; influence product engineering design; and make robotics, automation, or technical recommendations to support production system integration for aerospace products.
- Support creation and modification of equipment and tooling definition at the program level.
- Carry out project plans, provide input to make/buy decisions, and partner with procurement to meet program schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform gated reviews and develop plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
- Validate contractual performance milestones.
- Develop and implement work-arounds. Maintain hardware configuration, software configuration, and documentation.
- Evaluate new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
- Support plan implementation through project management, planning, and scheduling. Shop projects for integration.
This position is expected to be fully onsite in Heath, OH.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- This position requires the obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.
- Minimum 3+ years of related experience.
- CATIA experience.
- Experience drawing, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- If not already within commuting distance of Heath, OH, willingness and ability to relocate at your own expense.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Configuration Control experience.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
