Job Summary
We are seeking a technically strong Tool Install Engineer with expertise in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems to support semiconductor tool installation projects. This role provides technical leadership throughout design review, installation planning, construction support, commissioning, and system integration activities within advanced manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing engineering documentation, coordinating cross-discipline teams, resolving field execution challenges, and ensuring instrumentation and electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned safely and efficiently. This position works closely with engineers, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to facilitate semiconductor tool installation activities, ensuring systems are integrated safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements, quality standards, and operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical review and coordination of instrumentation, controls, and electrical scopes supporting semiconductor tool installation projects.
  • Review engineering work including control system architectures, single-line diagrams, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and equipment layouts to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Evaluate designs for constructability, maintainability, safety, installation readiness, and alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with design firms, contractors, OEMs, and vendors to resolve technical issues, installation conflicts, RFIs, submittals, and field execution challenges.
  • Provide technical expertise for PLC, SCADA, DCS, field instrumentation, control panels, power distribution systems, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and emergency power interfaces.
  • Support field engineering activities including inspections, installation verification, commissioning, startup, and system turnover.
  • Apply BIM and build coordination tools such as Revit and Navisworks to support clash detection, routing validation, and installation planning.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to system integration, installation quality, performance, safety, and project schedule while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting instrumentation, controls, electrical engineering, construction engineering, tool installation, or industrial project execution.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, control panels, sensors, and system integration.
  • Experience reviewing electrical and instrumentation engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, specifications, and equipment layouts.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across engineering, construction, vendor, and commissioning teams while solving complex technical issues in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Direct experience with semiconductor tool installation, utility interfaces, process tool hookups, and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEEE, IEC, and other applicable electrical and instrumentation standards.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar engineering and coordination platforms.
  • Experience employing AI and digital tools to improve workflows, project execution, reporting, or operational efficiency.
