DoA stands for Dead on Arrival. Every day, multiple DoAs are reported, impacting ASML’s customers. For ASML and its customers, it is critical to find the root causes and prevent reoccurrences. The Tool DoA engineer has a key role in ASMLs drive to reduce DOAs and improve quality!
We’re looking for a creative & resourceful engineer to join our team and help us turn DoA issues into pragmatic solutions. If you thrive on solving puzzles, collaborating with talented minds, and making a real impact, we want to hear from you! As a Tool DOA engineer you’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing, analyzing and resolving technical challenges. You’ll work closely together with cross-functional teams to drive engineering solutions, while being located in the department D&E MD EUV Tooling Technology.
Role & responsibilities
In the role of a Tool DoA engineer, you'll be joining Tool DOA intake meetings and validating the Tool DOA to check if the issue should have been classified as DOA. You will develop & maintain a cross-sectoral network in order to:
- Identify a containment for Tool DOAs
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Tool DOAs and inspect damaged tools located in a warehouse as part of the RCA
- Create Single Page Summary (SPS) to describe the root cause
- Define a structural solution proposal for the identified root cause
- Present SPS to DOA / BL stakeholders
- Create a Triage Investigation Request (TIR) to prepare for TRIAGE
- Update Single Page Summary (SPS) to describe the defined structural solution proposal
Education and experience
- Bachelor- or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar
- At least 3 years of experience in any of the following areas:
- Working in a manufacturing environment involved in issue identification & resolution
- Working in multi-disciplinary projects on product (development &) industrialization
- Hands on experience in the field of mechanics is an advantage
- ASML / semiconductor industry experience is an advantage
- Broad technical knowledge
- Problem solving / root cause analysis

Other information
Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The cluster Mechanical Development is responsible for providing mechanical and thermal architecture solutions focusing on cost of ownership, serviceability, manufacturability and early supplier involvement.
