GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for leading tooling design efforts during new job development, as well as maintaining and updating existing tooling drawings. This position is a customer interactive and requires a candidate that is dependable, punctual, accountable, and respectful.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Evaluate customer requests and examine technical drawings to resolve design issues, assure product quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
- Stay current with new software and manufacturing processes.
- Research new tooling concepts as required.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in existing tooling.
- Work between internal departments to improve efficiency of manufacturing operations.
- Perform any other task or duty as requested / required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to customers and employees.
- Good program and file management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Platform Tools (Word, Excel, Teams)
- PM Tool Processing knowledge
- Competence in time and project management skills
TRAVEL:
Some travel may be required as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in PM tooling, 2D CAD, and 3D CAD is required.
- Experience in MasterCAM and Solidworks is preferred.
- Shape to CAD experience.
- FEA, structural analysis experience.
- Machining experience is preferred.
- PM Tool Processing experience is preferred.
