Job Description

Job Summary

Leads the development, documentation, maintenance, enhancement and testing of technical and more complex product risk measurements and customer/product orientated models for Treasury and Payments Solutions's key strategic objectives. Conducts on-going analysis of the treasury and payment solutions business reporting key findings and trends along with recommended next steps to senior leaders across the bank. Provides effective written and verbal executive level presentations. Collaborates with business partners in the design and development of various tools and models used in business analysis and predictive model development. Serves as a the liaison for Treasury to business areas, providing sound analytical evaluation of business concepts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, analysis and maintenance of financial analysis tools designed to increase Treasury revenues, gain market share, and improve pricing. Manages and provides quantitative and qualitative reporting and analysis for data driven business decisions.
  • Partners with other business areas in the design and development of predictive models related to customer behavior to support customer contact strategies including marketing and retention.
  • Leads Treasury in providing financial analytics, line of business reporting, ad hoc reporting and other critical projects.
  • Works directly with Synovus strategic finance, technology and other line-of-business managers within the bank as needed.
  • Leads the team with creating and implementing reporting tools for management, line of business analytics and financial performance of Treasury Payments and Solutions
  • Provides financial analytics, line-of-business reporting, ad-hoc reporting and other critical projects in support of Treasury Payments and Solution's effective strategic finance function. Analyzes trends and provides recommendations as requested.
  • Conducts on-going analysis of the treasury and payment solutions business reporting key findings and trends along with recommended next steps to senior leaders across the bank. Provides effective written and verbal executive level presentations.
  • Remains current on modeling trends, techniques, tools and best practices. Identifies emerging trends in technology as opportunities for future growth and development.
  • Communicates with team and cross-functional areas to enable effective teamwork.
  • Assists management in identifying potential issues and resolution of same.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of financial analysis experience. Must have Treasury Management experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory, methodologies and applications
  • Must know XAA
  • Knowledge and understanding of model development including model design, documentation and implementation.
  • Knowledge of reporting and dashboard tools
  • Data visualization and presentation skills with ability to translate outcomes into business opportunities
  • Skill in engaging non-technical clients, understanding business needs and opportunities, and communicating in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficiency using SQL and extracting data from relational databases
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products with advanced proficiency using Excel and Visual Basic
  • Understanding of the banking industry
  • Detailed orientated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
  • Skill multi-tasking and prioritizing
  • Knowledge of database management and report generation
  • Project management skills
  • Effective written and verbal executive level presentations skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers on various levels.
