Who We're Looking For:
Wolfspeed is seeking a supervisor to lead a team of process and equipment technicians on a 12-hour rotating shift. This role requires a strong and consistent fab floor presence and provides leadership coverage across all semiconductor processes. The position integrates people leadership, equipment maintenance, and process operations under a single supervisory role.
The ideal candidate brings experience leading technical teams in a semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong operational discipline and quality flow accountability, and is comfortable working with chemicals used in routine maintenance activities. This role is well suited for a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day execution with team development in a high-tech manufacturing setting.
This position will work a 12-hour day shift with a "3on-4off-4on-3off" alternating schedule. Schedule will be Thursday- Saturday and every other Wednesday, 6am - 6:15pm
The Day-to-Day:
Lead, coach, and directly supervise a combined team of process and equipment technicians with a strong, daily presence on the fab floor
Actively enforce safety standards, departmental KPIs, and 5S compliance through routine floor walks and real-time engagement
Ensure production equipment is maintained to company standards by actively overseeing maintenance execution and minimizing unplanned downtime
Own and drive hands-on training for equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and process qualifications
Establish, document, and sustain PM procedures and OCAPs, ensuring consistent execution on shift
Drive cross-training between process and equipment technicians and directly manage spare parts availability on the floor
Work side-by-side with Manufacturing Operations to support daily production priorities and throughput objectives
Own shift-level hold lot management — triage active holds with process technicians and on-shift engineering, drive timely disposition decisions, and ensure CM entries accurately capture lot status and initial process assessment to minimize cycle time impact
Partner closely with process and equipment engineering to address SPC trends, reduce scrap and rework, and drive cost reductions
Build strong working relationships across departments to enable rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement on the fab floor
This Job is Right for You if You Have:
Demonstrated passion for leading technical teams in a high-tech, fast-paced manufacturing environment
Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field with 2+ years of supervisory or people-management experience, or
Associate's degree in a STEM-related field with 5+ years of supervisory or people-management experience
Equivalent military or semiconductor manufacturing experience with proven technical expertise and leadership responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supervising process and/or equipment technician teams in a semiconductor fab environment
Familiarity with module tool sets and factory controls (e.g., metrology tools as applicable), including SPC, OCAPs, and preventive maintenance programs
Cleanroom experience (gowning, contamination control, and working effectively in controlled environments)
Experience building and sustaining technician training/qualification programs (equipment operation, PM execution, process qualifications) and driving cross-training in a 24/7 operation
Experience managing on-shift hold lot triage and disposition processes, including CM documentation practices, engineering escalation protocols, and cycle time tracking in a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment
The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
Compensation Range:
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
