Therapy Development Manager – Switzerland

home-based, ideally in region Berne or Zurich

The Opportunity

The Therapy Development Manager will take care of coordination and optimization of activities in implanting centers as well as referral sites in a respective area to present Abbott as ideal long-term partner in the heart failure field and to develop inpatient and outpatient heart failure referral programs. The position is tasked with autonomously achieving regional sales and strategy targets as well as identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling activities. Furthermore, the Therapy Development Manager regularly assesses the heart failure business and market development opportunities to drive sales and provides field support in the implementation of specific heart failure marketing and sales initiatives.

What You’ll Work On

  • Acting independently in your region, you will be responsible for sales planning of Abbott products in the area of advanced heart failure and for expanding referral networks.
  • You will have full revenue responsibility for the assigned region.
  • You will be the point of contact for clinical users as well as staff from administration, purchasing, medical departments, etc., in the hospitals you support.
  • You will create account plans, manage customer relationships, and acquire new customers. This also includes strategic analysis of hospitals and implementation of comprehensive concepts.
  • You will plan the marketing budget for your region and ensure compliance.
  • You will prepare regular updates and forecasts for your region.
  • You will participate in national and international cardiovascular and cardiac surgery congresses to strengthen customer relationships and coordinate your activities with the team.
  • You will Organize and conduct local scientific events with the implantation centers.
  • You will conduct quarterly and annual meetings with all customers regarding the development of business relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field (e.g., biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, or similar).
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally in the cardiology market.
  • Familiarity with the Swiss Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO) and EU MDR (2017/745) is a plus.
  • Confident in engaging with clinical stakeholders, cardiologists and referrers and can translate complex scientific information into compelling value propositions.
  • Strong customer orientation, excellent communication skills, and creativity in developing tailored solutions for clients.
  • Highly self-motivated, flexible, and willing to travel extensively (minimum of 75% with overnight stays).
  • Team player with a friendly and adaptable personality.
  • Ownership, initiative, and commitment to delivering above-average results.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluent in German and English; French is a plus.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Switzerland.
