Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Thematic Analyst to identify, research, and evaluate long-term investment themes and macro trends that shape markets, industries, and societies. This role involves synthesising complex data from diverse sources to develop actionable insights that inform strategic decisions, investment theses, and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on emerging and long-term themes such as technological innovation, sustainability, demographic shifts, geopolitical developments, and consumer behavior.
- Develop thematic frameworks and models to assess the potential impact of trends on sectors, companies, and asset classes.
- Collaborate with investment teams, strategists, and external experts to validate and refine thematic ideas.
- Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and dashboards that communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.
- Monitor global news, academic research, and industry developments to stay ahead of evolving themes.
- Present findings to senior leadership, clients, and partners in a compelling and strategic manner.
- Contribute to the development of thematic investment products or strategies, where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Political Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- >5 years of experience in research, strategy, consulting, or investment analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and research databases.
- Ability to think creatively and connect disparate ideas into coherent themes.
- Passion for understanding global trends and their implications.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in ESG, sustainability, or impact investing.
- Knowledge of macroeconomics and geopolitical risk analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other data analysis tools is a plus.
