This person leads a team of creative artists and actors through the process of mounting a theatrical production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

(10%) Planning the production

(10%) Production Meetings

(60%) Rehearsal

(20%) Technical and Dress Rehearsals

  • Corresponding with pertinent artistic and technical staff relevant to the production towards planning,scheduling, designing scenery, costume, lights, sound, and other elements, plus choreography and music as necessary, and other production aspects as are appropriate.

  • Working with the Director of Theatre and the Silver Center for the Arts to establish a rehearsal schedule for the actors.

  • Being present and working with stage management to lead the rehearsals, sometimes with other members of the creative staff.

  • Being present and providing creative direction at technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals as necessary.

Requirements:

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in theatre or related field, plus an established resume or portfolio of pertinent work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A commitment to the growth and education of university students. Patience, compassion, and benevolence with emphasis on best teaching effectiveness as the ultimate goal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Established Professional Status as evidenced by: Masters Degree or Masters of Fine Arts
    Affiliation with a Professional Theatre Company or Organization

Compensation Pay Range:

$17 per hour
