The Role
Support design, installation, and maintenance of automated electrical test and inspection equipment. Develop and modify test software, set up and repair testers, create machine/fixture/software specifications, analyze production data, and drive quality and production improvements. Perform project launch and management tasks, conduct root cause analysis, and travel to vendors/customers as needed to ensure products meet specifications and achieve zero defects.

Job Summary:
Support the design, planning, installation, and maintenance of automated test inspection machines and equipment. Engineer will interpret the product test specifications and develop testing methods to ensure quality of electronic products. Using a variety of measurement hardware and custom software we ensure products sold to our customers have zero defects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily production line support
  • Create/modify electrical inspection test software programs, test systems
  • Setup/Repair/Modify production electrical inspection testers
  • Develop machine/fixture/software specifications 
  • Travel to various vendors, customers, and other group companies
  • Develop software solutions for analyzing data, automating common tasks, and process improvement
  • General production improvement tasks upon request including time studies, cost analysis, ROI studies, cost reduction activities 
  • Project launch activities including obtaining funds, obtaining approval from upper management, and project management from project start until mass production launch
  • Quality improvement tasks upon request including optimization of inspection tests, capability studies, defect root cause analysis, countermeasure development and implementation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze and interpret large amounts of data
  • Project management/organization and scheduling abilities
  • Problem solving skills, electrical troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of C, C++, or Python programming language (others may be considered)
  • Capable of using benchtop equipment (Oscope, DMM, Power supplies, etc)
  • Circuit analysis - schematic reading
  • Technical reporting 
  • Basic knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) and engineering software
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $100,000
 

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to the production line, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Create and modify electrical inspection test software programs to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Setup, repair, and modify production electrical inspection testers as needed.
  • Develop specifications for machines, fixtures, and software to optimize testing processes.
  • Travel to various sites, including vendors, customers, and group companies, for project-related tasks.
  • Develop software solutions for data analysis, task automation, and process improvement.
  • Conduct general production improvement tasks, including time studies and cost analysis.
  • Manage project launches, from obtaining funds and approvals to overseeing the mass production launch.
  • Perform quality improvement tasks, such as optimizing inspection tests and conducting defect root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects and tasks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is mandatory.

  • Experience with benchtop equipment and circuit analysis is required.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is a must-have.
