Test Lead I- SQA
What you will do
In this role, you will be part of product development team to manage & deliver new product functionalities, modify existing product’s functionalities or verify product functionalities as required.
The SQA Test Lead will lead and provide supervision and technical guidance to Manual & Automation software test team in design, testing, and delivery of the products under development/support
You will work within a multi-disciplined engineering team consisting of electronics engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, programmers and scientists focusing on applied research and new technology innovations to provide new and improved products and solutions for our customers.
How you will do it
- Independently owns generating test plans and test cycles through automated tests or manual test processes
- Work in coordination with technical leads/DM on Design, development, testing, support to maintain desired quality levels set by organization
- Support lead to define architecture and own independent modules
- Should take responsibility for making test strategy for Manual / automation testing and have good experience in Automation framework, Scripting
- Prepares Test Reports & Summary reports for manual/automation tests
- Supervises the team technically by planning & assigning tasks
- Ensures Test Setup & Hardware Setup are planned for testing
- Takes Ownership & motivates and guides the team and supports the team during technical challenges
- Review product requirements and design specifications to ensure software development and test plans are aligned with PFS
- Should give focus on process improvements & ensure configuration management is taken care.
- Takes immediate and, when necessary, independent action to resolve issues or problems in a timely manner in co-ordination with lead.
Information Security Responsibilities:
- Adhere to JCI policies, guidelines and procedures pertaining to the protection of information assets
- Adhere to JCI product security standards and guidelines for secured software product development
- The software, licenses, shall be deployed and used only in accordance with JCI licensing agreements
- Unless provided in the applicable license, notice, or agreement, copyrighted software shall not be duplicated, except for backup and archival purposes
- Any software that is acquired illegally or does not have a valid license shall not be deployed or used. Copying of third-party materials without an appropriate license is prohibited
- The employees, contractors or third-party personnel shall not copy, extract, or reproduce in any way, copyrighted material from the Internet on information systems provided by organization, other than permitted by copyright law
- Implement appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
- All employees, contractors and third parties shall be responsible to report all information security incidents, alerts, warnings, and suspected vulnerabilities, in a timely manner, and share such information only with authorized personnel
What we look for
Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Software Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria. Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must. Understanding of software analysis, design and testing techniques Experience in different network protocols, working in lab environment, preparing HW setups Understanding and basic hands-on experience with analog and digital electronics, various microcontroller/microprocessor peripherals Basic experience in usage of hardware measurement tools such as, Oscilloscope, Variable power supply, Multimeter, etc. Understanding of software analysis, design and testing techniques Working knowledge in V&V in product based environments in Module, system level and End to End testing Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with detail as well as with general assignments Ability to create Test JIGs, troubleshoot them, Define Test Automation Framework. A professional, results oriented individual with a high degree of self-motivation Prior knowledge on product regulatory/certification standards like UL/ULC/IEC will be most preferred. Experience on embedded product testing including HW, SW, FW etc is must
Education and Preference:
- BE (CSE/ECE/EIE/ETC)
- Minimum (10-12) years of experience in System testing & application software testing experience or Verification/Validation experience in both Manual and Automation
- Good to Have: ISTQB Certification (Foundation level/ Advanced Level)
- Experience in product domain including Web/cloud is an added advantage

Skills Required
- Bachelor of Engineering (CSE/ECE/EIE/ETC)
- 10-12 years experience in system testing, application software testing or V&V (manual and automation)
- Experience leading and supervising Manual and Automation software test teams
- Experience designing and implementing Automation frameworks and scripting
- Hands-on experience in embedded product testing including hardware, software, and firmware
- Knowledge and basic hands-on experience with analog and digital electronics and microcontroller/microprocessor peripherals
- Experience using hardware measurement tools (Oscilloscope, Variable power supply, Multimeter)
- Ability to create and troubleshoot Test JIGs and define Test Automation Frameworks
