Position Summary
The Quality & Metrology Engineer is responsible for supporting calibration, metrology, and quality activities within the India Service Laboratory. The role is responsible for ensuring calibration accuracy, maintaining metrological traceability, supporting ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL compliance, and contributing to new capability development for Fluke's Test & Measurement service business in India.
This position will play a key role in laboratory operations, helping improve calibration quality, technical capability, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will work closely with laboratory leadership, global metrology experts, and cross-functional teams to support calibration services, capability expansion, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of Test & Measurement instruments, calibration principles, and quality systems with hands-on laboratory experience and a passion for process improvement and automation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Calibration & Metrology Operations
- Perform calibration of Test & Measurement equipment in accordance with Fluke procedures and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Execute daily calibration activities and achieve committed Turn-Around-Time (TAT) targets.
- Maintain metrological traceability of calibration standards and reference equipment.
- Prepare calibration reports and certificates with high technical accuracy.
- Support troubleshooting and technical investigation of complex calibration issues.
2. Quality & Compliance
- Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the laboratory quality management system.
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO/IEC 17025
- NABL accreditation requirements
- Fluke Quality Management System
- Support internal audits, external audits, proficiency testing, and corrective action activities.
- Maintain controlled procedures, technical records, and quality documentation.
3. Capability Development & NPI Support
- Support deployment of new calibration and repair capabilities.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) service readiness activities.
- Assist with validation of calibration methods and technical procedures.
- Work with global metrology teams to transfer knowledge and best practices.
- Support laboratory expansion projects and capability roadmap execution.
4. Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Support the team with MVS procedure automation, including development, validation, optimization, and deployment of automated calibration procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve calibration efficiency, quality, consistency, and productivity.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives within laboratory operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects using FBS, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
5. Technical Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with Service Engineers, Quality teams, Engineering teams, and Global Metrology teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support investigation of customer escalations related to calibration quality and technical performance.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the laboratory.
- Contribute to a culture of quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Metrology
- Physics
- Other relevant technical disciplines
Experience
- 3-8 years of experience in calibration, metrology, laboratory operations, quality engineering, or Test & Measurement services.
- Experience working within ISO17025 accredited laboratories.
- Experience supporting calibration and measurement activities.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of:
- Calibration principles
- Measurement uncertainty
- Traceability requirements
- Test & Measurement equipment
- Familiarity with NABL accreditation requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and calibration procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fluke, Tektronix, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or equivalent Test & Measurement equipment.
- Experience with MVS procedure development and automation.
- Experience with Python, LabVIEW, MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, or related automation tools.
- Experience supporting new capability setup and NPI projects.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA, and quality improvement methodologies.

- Perform daily depot calibration jobs and meet promised turnaround time

- Implement calibration procedures according to Fluke requirements and ISO 17025 accreditation
- Coordinate with lab manager to support NPI and new capability setup
