Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Test Engineer. If you are looking for an opportunity to work on the state of the art equipment that protects and controls the electrical power system then this position is for you!

As a Test Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
Evaluate new test technologies and methods.
Determine Design for Test (DFT) specifications and coordinate with engineering staff on new product design.
Design, develop, and maintain test strategies for new and existing products that meet customer objectives.
Train staff in function, design, and maintenance of all testing processes on the laboratory floor.
Gather and analyze test data to improve test coverage and efficiencies.

Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
This job might be for you if you have:
A bachelor's in electrical or computer engineering
Experience designing and developing tests or working in an electrical lab
A solid foundation in the fundamentals of electrical engineering
Excellent writing and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in electronic design, manufacturing and testing
Skill in design and construction of electrical test fixtures
Familiarity with commercial and MIL-STD test methods
Experience in writing test procedures and test documentation
Knowledge of computer architecture and operation
Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, C#
Experience with using version control systems such as Git

Pay Range Data
Test Engineer: $88,000 - $108,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills
