Test Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Test Product Engineer in sustaining test group, you will debug and repair production test solutions (test hardware and software) and analyze product yields for complex digital and mixed signal ASICs.

Responsibilities:

• Assume primary ownership of each product’s production test solution (tester, DUT boards, sockets, change kits, software) after transfer to production.
• Responsible for LOT and data management/disposition of products tested in the assigned OSAT. 
• Ensure products and infrastructure are properly merged into test-houses’ systems and processes.
• Provide prompt response to current production and product issues, on both a corrective level and preventive level.
• Support Semtech’s Product Engineering and Failure Analysis requirements.
• Work with test-house personnel to improve processes and systems impacting Semtech’s quality, throughput, cost.
• Identify optimization opportunities in cost reduction and improvement of: Test process efficiency, Product yield, Manufacturing process quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Hands on experience of wafer sort or final IC test platforms and test techniques for digital and mixed signal products, with preference given to Teradyne Flex or Advantest 93K tester experience
• Software programming skills in high level languages
• Aptitudes for electronics debug using a combination of ATE and external test instruments
• Knowledge of PCB design and layout rules (DC and High Frequency range)
• Understanding of ASIC design, DFT techniques
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Independent with ability to multi-task on projects
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong documentation skills and experience with revision control
