Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Summary
The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test plans and their implementation for testing of Avionics and Radio Communication products.  This role involves working with both hardware and software to ensure the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability for VIAVI products. The candidate should have a good understanding of both hardware and software design, and should be familiar with RF.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated test systems for validating product performance criteria.
  • Create and implement test plans and strategies to evaluate the performance, functionality, and quality of product design.
  • Design electrical interfaces and test fixtures required for testing RF equipment.
  • Interpret and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot and optimize test setups.
  • Write test automation code primarily in C/C++, with occasional scripting in Python, to control test systems and collect performance data.
  • Collaborate with the hardware and software development teams to identify and resolve any issues in the design and testing phases.
  • Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for complex RF products and test systems.
  • Ensure that all tests meet required standards for accuracy, performance, and safety.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to test designs, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, primarily C/C++ and Python.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret product schematics
  • Strong technical reading skills
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
