Senior Engineer, Test Engineer

Location: Lumentum Thailand, Navanakorn – Pathum Thani
 

The Senior Test Engineer is a senior responsible for driving test engineering. This role working closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, and Global Engineering teams to develop, execute, and improve test strategies that ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Test Engineering

  • Serve as the Test Engineer for assigned products, owning test strategy, coverage, and execution.

  • Define, develop, and maintain manufacturing and reliability test plans, test specifications, and test coverage requirements.

  • Act as the primary technical owner for test-related issues and escalations.

Reliability & Validation Engineering

  • Plan and execute reliability testing to validate product robustness against environmental, mechanical, and operational stress conditions.

  • Analyze test and reliability data to identify failure trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Support Design for Testability and Reliability (DfT / DfR) in collaboration with R&D and Product Engineering.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Lifecycle Support

  • Execute product engineering activities for NPI, product transfer, and production ramp.

  • Support Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Test, and Reliability in collaboration with R&D and Process Engineering.

  • Support product qualification, documentation release, and engineering change management.

Yield, Quality & Cost Performance

  • Support analysis and improvement of product yield, performance, and quality metrics.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product-related manufacturing and field issues.

  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through product optimization and engineering changes.

Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

  • Collaborate with local and global engineering teams to support product readiness and execution.

  • Communicate technical status, risks, and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Support alignment across functions to ensure smooth manufacturing execution.

Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) Responsibility

  • Comply with all EHS policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Actively support EHS initiatives and continuous improvement actions.

  • Promote safe work practices and contribute to a Zero Accident Culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Physics, or related field); Master’s preferred.

  • 6–10+ years of experience in test engineering or reliability engineering within high-tech manufacturing environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing test development, execution, and data analysis.

  • Experience supporting reliability testing, qualification, and validation activities.

  • Background in optical, photonics, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Effective communication skills in English and ability to work in a global team environment.
