We are looking for a Test Engineer to help ensure the quality of our next-generation Advanced Metering Platform and IoT solutions. This role combines strong functional testing expertise with hands-on automation development.
The ideal candidate is passionate about quality engineering and can design, execute, and automate test scenarios across UI, API, and integrated system workflows. The engineer will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Technical Leads to build scalable automated test coverage using Playwright, TypeScript, and JavaScript, while contributing to overall product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work with Software Engineers, Tech Leads, and Product Managers to understand product architecture, business workflows, and feature implementation.
Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new and existing functionality.
Execute functional, integration, exploratory, and regression testing.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks.
Create and maintain automated UI, API, and end-to-end test suites.
Perform API validation and automation testing for microservices and distributed applications.
Build automation solutions.
Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track defects through resolution.
Participate in Agile activities including planning, story refinement, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with development teams to improve product testability and overall quality.
Contribute automated tests to CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
Drive continuous improvement in automation coverage, test execution efficiency, and release confidence.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, processes, and quality engineering practices.
Hands-on experience in functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
Experience developing and maintaining automated test solutions.
Ability to work effectively in Agile development environments.
BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience testing REST/SOAP web service API.
Knowledge of Java programming language.
Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript and JavaScript.
Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar engineering tools.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of test automation architecture and framework design.
Experience testing cloud-native and microservices-based applications.
Experience testing event-driven systems and message brokers.
Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
Experience with performance, scalability, or reliability testing.
Experience in IoT, AMI, utility, energy, or telecommunications domains.

As we're open to considering candidates with different levels of seniority, the compensation offered for this role will depend on your experience and is expected to range between gross HUF 13,000,000 and HUF 20,000,000 annually. We review compensation regularly to stay competitive in the market.
