Key Responsibilities:
Product Validation & DVP&R
- Develop and own Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) aligned with product requirements, standards, and engineering intent.
- Plan and execute mechanical functional, durability, lifecycle, performance, and environmental tests.
- Ensure full traceability between requirements, DVP&R and compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
- Review, approve, and present test reports and validation summaries.
Test Fixture & Rig Development
- Lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical test fixtures, jigs, and automated test rigs.
- Create and review CAD designs ensuring accuracy, repeatability, safety, and test intent alignment.
- Define fixture and instrumentation needs early in the DVP&R phase.
- Support BOM creation, vendor coordination, fabrication, assembly, and commissioning.
- Drive continuous improvement of fixtures and rigs based on test data, failures, and design evolution
Measurement, Data Logging & Instrumentation (Hands-On)
- Perform hands-on setup and configuration of measurement and data acquisition systems, including DEWESoft or equivalent DAQ platforms.
- Select, integrate, and validate sensors such as load cells, strain gauges, displacement, torque, pressure, and temperature sensors.
- Define sampling rates, channel configurations, filtering, triggering, and synchronization to ensure high‑quality data capture.
- Ensure measurement accuracy through calibration, system validation, and troubleshooting of signal issues.
Automation & Test Systems
- Define functional and performance requirements for PLC‑controlled and automated test systems, and collaborate with automation engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC logic.
- Integrate PLC controls with DAQ and data‑logging systems to enable synchronized testing and measurement.
- Ensure reliability, repeatability, and safe operation of all test equipment.
Data Analysis & Root Cause Analysis
- Identify failure mechanisms using measurement data, instrumentation feedback, and physical inspection.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, degradation behaviour, and failure modes.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using structured problem-solving methods (5‑Why, Fishbone, DFMEA, etc.).
- Correlate laboratory test data with field performance and engineering feedback.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Lab Ownership
- Partner with Product Design teams to support Design for Test (DFT) and validation readiness.
- Provide validation input to DFMEA and risk assessments.
- Own lab equipment, test rigs, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality systems, 5S, calibration, and audit requirements.
- Support lab capability expansion and mentor test technicians.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in DVP&R execution and mechanical product validation
- Proven expertise in test fixture and rig design
- Hands‑on experience with DEWESoft or similar data logging systems
- Knowledge of sensors, DAQ systems, signal conditioning, and calibration
- Experience with PLC-based or automated test systems
- Strong RCA and failure analysis capability
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with ECN, BOM, and product lifecycle processes
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred: Experience with architectural door hardware and exposure to BHMA / UL standards.

- Experience: 5+ years in mechanical design, testing, validation, or product assurance roles
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Electronics/Instrumentation Stream
- Travel: Up to 10%
