About the position

The QA Test Engineer at Abbott is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products within the Diabetes division, focusing on mobile apps. This role involves developing and optimizing manual and automated tests, conducting thorough testing processes, and collaborating with team members to enhance automation practices. The position is integral to maintaining compliance with medical industry standards while driving innovation in diabetes management technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Execute comprehensive testing activities aligned with user stories within the Agile app development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strategically integrate automated testing into the app development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java or Python with Selenium and Appium.
  • Perform testing on a wide range of mobile devices (different brands and models), creating and updating datasets for automation scripts.
  • Conduct Bluetooth and NFC compatibility testing across various devices and operating systems.
  • Tailor manual and automated testing solutions to meet the specific needs of the medical industry, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, implementing innovative solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Produce clear, high-quality documentation for all testing systems and updates, ensuring compliance with medical industry standards.
     
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline.
  • 2 years' experience in Mobile Testing and/or Software Quality Assurance
  • 1-2 years' experience in hands-on coding in Python or Java
  • Experience in Selenium and/or Appium
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Schedule flexibility, you will work with teams in US and India
  • Mostly presential working model. Some flexibility to work from home.
Nice-to-haves
  • Computer Science degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry.
  • Medical Device experience strongly preferred.
  • Nice to have Smart Watch App testing experience.
