Test Engineer II

The Test Engineer II will work to develop and execute test cases to verify the conformance and interoperability of features, systems and solutions to commercial and technical requirement specifications. This includes the development and maintenance of automated test suites, tools and infrastructure. The engineer must also troubleshoot and characterise defects and provide detailed configurations and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product acceptance reporting.

• Assist in the development of test cases to verify the conformance of software products to product and solution requirement design specifications (PRD SRS) and customer specific use-cases
• Develop, maintain and execute test plans, test strategies for features under test to ensure functional, performance, stress, and error handling coverage
• Submit quality defect reports with reproducible steps while communicating customer impact and issue isolation information
• Assist in the development of test cases which will test the feature requirements, fault tolerance and interoperability testing against 3rd party vendors
• Install and configure the integrated solution under test
• Develop and maintain automated test suites, tools and infrastructure

• Familiarity with networking systems, hardware and software configurations, network switches, cable modem termination systems, configuration of software, mobile and gaming applications, Data Analysis and Data Engineering
• Ability to work from the command line on Unix (FreeBSD) and/or Linux is an asset Previous work experience or co-op terms in a solution testing and verification or a related field is an asset
• Experience with automated software testing tools and scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Python, Selenium) is an asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of Quality Assurance processes and software development life cycle is an asset
• Understanding of iterative Software Development methodology is an asset Experience with query languages and relational databases (SQL)

• 2+ years of experience in Python, scripting and analytics tools.
• Expertise with one or more of Wireshark or other protocol analyzer tools, Tools like Tableau, MS Business Objects, SQL, DB servers, ML/AI utilities/tools would be desirable
• Any experience with selenium or similar web apps or mobile or gaming automation
• Ability to write test plans for functional, system level like performance tests and deployment scenarios and execute them with minimal help.
• Ability to work in a scrum team environment and be a great team player in accomplishing the objectives following R&D processes

• Bachelor's Degree (STEM) or equivalent experience
