Test Engineer (Hardware Production)

The Test & Measurement (T&M) Test Engineering team designs, assembles, and validates test solutions to be used in T&M Manufacturing facilities to test T&M products at various stages of their assembly process. We are seeking a Test Engineer who will design these automated test systems.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

• Designing or revising custom printed circuit boards to be used in a test fixture
• Developing production test code for the next generation of NI products
• Qualifying instruments for use in a Test application to be deployed to Manufacturing
• Analyzing production test data to look for trends that indicate the health of the product and/or test solution

WHO YOU ARE: You stay on Top of new communication technologies. You partner with others to get work done. You persist in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in Production Test Engineering or related Engineering field
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
  • Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

Strong candidates will have an understanding of the following concepts and principles:

• High-level programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, TestStand, Python)
• Analog signal considerations
• Sources of measurement error
• Appropriate selection of instrumentation
• Statistical analysis of data
• Integration of hardware and software
• Hands-on experience with electronic hardware
• Experience with high frequency circuit design, RF and wireless communication is highly desirable
