Job Description
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will work as a key contributor within a cross-functional engineering team, developing and maintaining firmware for Rockwell Automation products. You will take ownership of technical topics, actively shape solutions, and contribute to architectural and design decisions across the firmware stack.
Your responsibilities include analyzing and refining requirements, designing and reviewing firmware architecture and design documents, and implementing robust, high-quality solutions primarily in C/C++. You will independently analyze complex issues, debug problems across software and hardware boundaries, and drive them to resolution.

You will report to the Embedded Team Lead and work in a hybrid model in Katowice, Poland.
Your Responsibilities:- Agile / SAFe software development with active participation in planning, estimation, and technical refinement
- Firmware architecture and design (BSP, HAL, OSAL, RTOS, IPC, system services)
- Advanced debugging and diagnostic techniques (ICD, simulators, tracers, OS analyzers, loggers)
- Advanced networking concepts (Time Sensitive Networking, redundancy, cryptography, secure communication)
- Hardware-aware software development (multi-core SoCs/ASICs, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth)
- Code quality and maintainability (code reviews, coding standards, static analysis, best practices)
- Continuous Integration and Delivery (Git workflows, automated testing, Python tooling, Jenkins)
- Security, industrial standards, and certification processes (ODVA, TÜV, CIP, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Solid experience across the software development lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing)
- Practical programming experience in C/C++
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and embedded communication concepts
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software and firmware development
- Practical experience working with RTOS-based systems
- Proven ability to debug and analyze complex firmware issues
- Knowledge of embedded security principles and secure system design
- Experience with communication protocols and network device configuration
- Knowledge and experience with Python or similar scripting language
