As an ATE Test Development Engineer in new product development (NPD), you will own CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) final test development and execution for automotive, industrial, and commercial products. You will be responsible for bringing up test programs and test hardware as products move from concept commit through qualification and ramp to mass production.
This role requires strong ownership, technical execution, and regular interaction with subcons and internal cross functional teams to support new product introduction, debug, correlation, and high volume manufacturing.
• Develop, debug, and release final test programs for CIS products ramping to mass production
• Manage and perform test correlations for hardware and test program releases
• Define and review test hardware requirements and tester interfaces
• Support and review DIB/loadboard designs with suppliers and internal hardware teams
• Optimize test coverage, test time, and multi site efficiency while meeting CIS quality and automotive requirements
• Set, review, and maintain test limits and guard bands aligned with datasheet and quality requirements
• Support and perform GR&R for test hardware and test programs
• Manage test program changes and releases using GitLab (branching, merge requests, reviews, tagging, release notes)
• Work directly with subcons and manufacturing teams on NPI, ramp, and sustaining issues
• Create and maintain test documentation and release processes
• Mentor junior engineers on test fundamentals, final test, and hardware interactions
• Coordinate with global teams across time zones, including North America and Asia
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
• Typically 8–12+ years of ATE test development experience
• Functional knowledge of ATE systems, including probers and handlers
• Experience programming in high level languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, VB)
• Direct experience owning final test programs through release and manufacturing
• Demonstrated understanding of test hardware, pin mapping, and signal definitions
• Strong written and spoken English
• Mandarin/Chinese strongly preferred for Taiwan based OSAT interaction
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of execution critical tasks
• Experience working with IP750 / IGXL and I1000HD testers preferred
• Experience working directly with OSAT partners
• Strong understanding of CMOS image sensors is preferred
