Your Responsibilities
As a Test Design & Automation Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions Group located in Fargo, ND, you will lead overall test development for high level programs and enhance existing test systems for robust electronics intended for on/off road vehicles and harsh environments. In addition, you will:
- Create innovative HW/SW testing architectures and designs for challenging problems.
- Capture requirements definition working directly with cross functional teams and customers. Review and provide proper feedback driving complete requirements definition.
- Perform advanced analysis, make recommendations and test design decisions based on results with minimal assistance from others.
- Implement code using advanced National Instruments (NI) development practices and tools. Solve integration issues that involve multiple code modules, code bases, and/or multiple developers.

What Skills You Need
- 4 or more years of experience in test system development for manufacturing
- 4 or more years of experience in NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand
- 4 or more years of experience with basic controls, and Data Acquisition systems (DAQ)
- Experience in SW development (C, C++, XML, Python, etc.)
- Technical experience using and understanding schematics and hardware analysis software (Pspice, KiCad, etc.)
- Experience in statistical analysis (SPC, GR&R, Monte Carlo, etc.)
- Experience with basic electronics hardware and systems (i.e. Op Amp, FET's, Transistors, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)
- Good written and verbal communications skills (English)
- Understanding of product development phases
- Ability to technically comprehend microprocessor-based embedded electronic hardware and software designs and requirements.
- Ability to perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks.
- Ability to technically comprehend testing, manufacturing, quality control, and marketing requirements.
What Makes You Standout
- Experience with automating of manufacturing processes
- Experience integrating ethernet based communication protocols into an automated test system
- Experience with communication protocols (i.e. CAN, Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, RS-232, USB, Modbus, etc.)
- Power Electronics and/or Vision testing experience
- Electronic circuit design experience.
- Software development experience
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited engineering program.
