About the Department
Our Test & Implementation team, comprising over 50 professionals, is dedicated to crafting and developing automation strategies that ensure the quality and efficiency of our solutions. We take complete ownership of creating test automation solutions, designing automation frameworks, and owning the implementation of our test strategy. By defining best practices and aligning with abrdn's processes and tools, we ensure that the work delivered is of the highest quality.
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Test Automation Engineer to join our growing team. Working with the Head of Testing & Implementation, you will collaborate closely with the automation test team, contributing to the design, maintenance, and execution of automation frameworks. You will work to ensure the adoption of the framework across the QA teams and use modern testing tools and techniques to drive productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and complete automation scripts, ensuring they align with business requirements.

Collaborate with multiple teams to define and prioritise tests, and document any defects or issues identified.

Support the development and maintenance of automated test data and the Automation CD/CI Pipeline.

Ensure timely delivery of testing milestones while supporting the defect management process and contributing to testing strategies.

Provide reporting and technical input, ensuring compliance with test automation strategies and best practices.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Fluency in Python.

Experience in test automation, manual test execution, and continuous integration tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).

Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, raise concerns, and follow up on defects.

A passion for learning, improving, and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
